Dr. Kind Heart, aka Steve Andersen, graduated from Hudson Valley Community College Clown School in 2001. At the time, he was working in a large corporation, and wanted to balance his intense schedule with humor. In addition to finding joy, he found that connecting heart to heart with others was even more fulfilling. He then joined the Electric City Clown Alley, and relished performing clown skits for nursing homes. It was that experience that excited him about Clowns on Rounds.
Before joining us, Dr. Kind Heart served 2 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa between 2005-2007. There he met African clowns, and they danced and laughed together. (Clowning in Africa is an ancient tradition.)
Soon after taking early retirement, Dr. Kind Heart came to Clowns on Rounds. During 2014 he started his training. He looks forward to more actively laughing with patients and their families.
